How to use Redact PDF

1. Add your document

Open your PDF in the redaction workspace and choose a page.

2. Choose your settings

Mark an area, click words or find a phrase across the document. Review every mark; use undo, resize or remove to correct selections.

3. Download and review

Apply redactions to create a new PDF, then inspect every page before sharing.

Before you process

The downloaded PDF removes marked content and strips metadata and embedded attachments. Preview marks are pending until export. Search and word selection require selectable text; area marking works on scanned images. Keep the original and verify the result.

File limits and privacy

Guests can use this tool without an account within 25 MB combined uploads and 50 PDF pages per task. A free Google account includes 50 MB and 100 pages. Pro includes up to 1 GB and 300 pages, subject to the tool’s technical limits. Compare all plan limits.

Documents are processed on our server. Temporary results expire within one hour; Free account files are deleted after a complete download. Pro can save results in a private 1 GB library. Read how files are handled.
